Product Review (submitted on February 3, 2014):

The item has no manufacturer or part number marked on it but it is a quality product.

It is basically an aluminum extrusion with saw cut ends and tapped hole.

The saw cuts are 'raw' but not unreasonably sharp and do not have a burr.

The rear heat transfer surface is reasonable flat but can be enhanced by lapping. To do this rub it across a piece of fine sandpaper on a flat surface until the entire surface shines.

The hole is tapped for an M3x.5 screw. I used the a mounting screw from an old computer CDROM and it worked great.

There was a slight burr on the edge of the hole down between the fins. I used a razor knife to remove it to avoid the off chance of it flaking off later and causing a short.

The heatsink is 26mm long x 17mm wide x17mm tall (fin side). The base is 2.5MM thick, the fins are 1.5MM thick. The hole is on center line between the fins and 7.5MM from the top. The unit weighs 10g (0.4oz) (without a screw).

With the screw in it is just the right height to allow the legs to push through into your PCB or breadboard. If you use it with your breadboard be sure to leave an air gap underneath to avoid transferring the heat to the plastic.

I am using it to cool a 7805 Vreg and it works great.

Overall I would buy it again and would recommend it to a friend.
