I received a genuine ST 7805CV.
It is a standard TO-220 package so it is breadboard friendly and it also works well directly soldered.
I used this to provide power to logic ICs and micro-controllers and it works well.
Keep in mind for many applications you must add a heatsink.
Overall I would buy it again and would recommend it to a friend.

I got 3 of these to work power my ATMega328 on a breadboard. Works perfectly with the 9v supply i use.

A little power house
These regulators are great.
I've had a few of them running for several days at a time for a few weeks.
No problems so far, even though the ambient temp. their running in is quite high.
Highly recommend these.
